CREATIVE DIY GIFT IDEAS FOR CHRISTMAS
January 03, 2020
The year is speeding to a close, and before we know it Christmas will be here. Have you had some time to think about what you want to give your partner this year? To make things a little easier, we’ve compiled a list of creative DIY gifts that you can make at home. After all, nothing says ‘I love you’ quite like something you’ve created from scratch.
We realize that not everyone is equally handy, so we’ve divided the list into ‘very handy’, ‘not so handy’, and ‘I could injure myself’. Choose the category that suits you best!
Good on you! In a time when most people are getting muscular thumbs because of excessive cell phone use, you are the rare exception. Push out the boat and celebrate your talents!
Build them a self-watering planter box
. Kitchen gardens are all the rage, and even if you only have balcony space, a planter box is all you need for your fresh herbs.
• Send your partner an official invitation to a romantic dinner that you cook from scratch. Do this before or after Christmas (most people spend the day itself with their families). Go all out – set the table, pour some wine, put on some music and let them sit back while you work your magic.
NOT SO HANDY
So, you have a little self-confidence in the DIY department, but you’d prefer something a little more straightforward? Here is an awesome list of fool-proof homemade gift ideas
that aren’t too hard to pull off.
Choose one or two (most are quite small), and make your partner a little hamper of DIY goodies to unwrap on Christmas Day. TOP TIP: Add a bottle of their favourite tipple and some snacks to flesh out the gift.
I COULD INJURE MYSELF
Not to worry. Not everyone was born to wield a hammer or a hot glue gun. There are other things you can make that won’t require heavy objects or molten materials:
A photo book containing real, print versions of your favourite digital pics of 2017. Not keen on assembling it yourself? Have one printed!
• A mix CD of all the songs that mark important milestones in your relationship. This gift should ideally be accompanied by a nice bottle of wine and some candlelight, so you can enjoy it in a romantic setting.
These are just a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing. Remember, in the end it’s the thought that counts. So, pour your heart and soul into your DIY gift and give it to your partner with all the love in the world. These tokens are the glue that binds a long-lasting relationship.

I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”
